President Resigns and Leaves Office
West Who President William Farr surprised the nation today with his resignation. Farr who has been serving as president of the Republic for five years stepped down half way through his fifth elected term. West Who presidents serve one year terms in office. Farr said at a news conference, “It has been my great honor to serve the people of West Who these past four and a half years. My work life is taking me in a new direction and I will be unable to continue as your president. My administration has accomplished a lot to build and improve the nation.” This is the first time in West Who’s 49 year history that a president has resigned from office.
Vice President John Farr assumed office as the new president, after receiving a letter of resignation from the president. He stated that he only intends to complete the next six months as president. Farr said he plans to seek re-election again in July as vice president.
