Thanksgiving Day, 2021
By the President of the Republic of West Who
A Proclamation
Thanksgiving Day is a holiday to celebrate family and friends and our many blessings. It originated on April 30, 1598 when Don Juan de Oñate led 500 settlers into an area now known as New Mexico in North America. The Spanish settlers had a difficult trip and Don Juan requested that the friars who were traveling with them say a Mass of Thanksgiving for their safe arrival. After the Mass, the settlers feasted on duck, geese and fish. West Who citizens around the world are encouraged to celebrate Thanksgiving to acknowledge the many things we are thankful for in our lives.
Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks to God for the blessings that we share, I call upon all citizens of the Republic of West Who and their friends to enjoy this happy day and to share with those who are less fortunate.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, WILLIAM C. FARR, President of the Republic of West Who, do hereby proclaim Thursday, November 25, 2021, as a day of national thanksgiving.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this fourteenth day of November, 2021, and of the establishment of the Republic of West Who fifty-two years.
William C. Farr
